The national minister of finance and planning provided $24,000 to purchase grinding mills for Rumamer village in Abyei Administrative Area.
Last February, Mr. Dier Tong made pledges to buy grinding mills for the villagers after they complained about going long distances to pound grains.
Hon Tong accompanied the newly appointed Chief Administrator, Dr. Chol Deng Alak with many other leaders from the region. He went to the village to condole the residents weeks after gunmen attacked them in early January 2023.
The executive chief of Diil chiefdom spoke to Abyei FM on Wednesday 15th March 2023.
Mr. Arop Kuol Kon confirmed the receipt of the cash. He said the money would be spent on buying three grinding mills, transporting, and installing them. Chief Kon expects shipment to arrive in the Area within days from Khartoum.
