The administration of education, information, culture, youth and sports received on Friday 10th March 2023 400 benches from the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Each bench accommodates four pupils.
Primary education director spoke to Abyei FM on Monday 13th March 2023.
Mr. Chol Ngor Chol said schools in the area are lacking enough seats and that UNICEF donated seats would mean a lot of help.
He said that their target is 1200 benches of which 400 were received from Wau, while the rest will be fabricated locally in Abyei.
Abyei Area has 21 primary schools including three new incepted learning spaces in Tajalei, Dokura and Nyinkuac IDP camps.
