More than 120 primary school teachers began accelerated English language courses on Thursday evening.
Director general of education administration said they targeted 160 teachers from public and private institutions for three months’ training.
John Ajang Kiir said the teachers will go for tests to establish English language levels at Abyei Co-education Secondary school on Thursday.
He said South Sudan and Abyei experienced low English language performance in Primary Leaving Examinations.
For that reason John said they decided to train teachers to improve English language.
