Citizens on Thursday have found six unexploded ordnances in Ajak-thony and Dotbaai residential areas in Agok of Rumamer county, Abyei administrative area.

The ordnances are three RPGs and three mortar 60 mm M57 bombs. Since the communal conflict between Twic of Warrap state and Ngok Dinka of Abyei Administrative Area started last February, numerous UXOs have been found in Agok. Those war remnants were destroyed by UN mine action service.

The source told Abyei FM that some people found these bombs and that God forbade they didn’t explode. He beliefs that the bombs could be a result of deadly attacks launched on Agok by armed Twic youth in May this year.

Deminers from the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) went to the site and took the bombs after receiving a report from residents.
