Hold the Child initiates three school peace clubs

Hold the Child- a national humanitarian organization initiated three school peace clubs in Abyei Administrative Area.

The clubs are in Abyei Girls’ primary school, Abyei Boys’ primary school and Mulmul primary school respectively in Abyei Town.

On Friday the organization protection officer said they aimed at creating acceptance between displaced pupils and those of the host community. Asunta Angong said that was very important for peace, love and fraternity among learners. She added that violent conflict and displacement in Abyei Administrative Area is  not understood by children to be the reason why they are sharing classes with classmates and taking part in extra-curricular activities such as sports, plays and dancing.

She assured her organization readiness to support these schools’ activities. Each peace club comprises of 15 members who will undergo a training on how to manager peace clubs.
