The attacks according to officials was carried out by armed youth from Twic County in Warrap State.

Government representative said that they were committed to cessation of hostilities and opted for dialogue to solve differences.

The acting head of health and social welfare administration, Dr. Ayom Korchiek Ayom says they are for peace and that dialogue is their only option not war.

The village chief, Bith Ajak Malual pleaded with inhabitants to remain in their homes while exploring ways on how UNISFA could provide protection. He encouraged school children to continue with their education.

Fighting between the two sisterly communities intensified in the last three months especially in areas south of the Kiir river.

The clashes are blamed on repeated attacks by armed youth from Twic county of Warrap State on Ngok Dinka villages.
