Ngok Dinka and Misseriya youth meet to restore peace in Abyei Administrative Area

The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) met youth from Misseriya and from Ngok Dinka on Sunday in Todac in Abyei Administrative Area. The meeting was facilitated by UNISFA community liaison office.

Lt. Colonel Abdel Mannan, Commander of the UNISFA in Northern Sector, told Abyei FM on Sunday that the meeting was organized to create competitive peace activities between the Ngok Dinka youth and the Misseriya youth. He says the goal of the meeting is dialogue among young people to support peace because young people have an impact in society.

Lt. Colonel. Mannan added that young people agreed to hold a football matches and meeting every week. He appealed to the youth not to engage in politics and leave politics to the politicians in Juba and Khartoum. Furthermore, he told them to focus on peace and establish communication among themselves and consider the process of peace, stability and development.

The head of the Misseriya Youth Ayesh Abdullah, told Abyei FM radio on Sunday that the aim of the meeting was to continue the societal dialogue.

Bol Akuei, secretary of Abyei Youth Union, the meeting was held to with aim to initiate communication among young people in support of peace.
