
Fifty people with disabilities including three women received non-food items in the Abyei Administrative Area on Thursday.
The displaced persons with special needs got plastic sheets, buckets, and mosquito nets from Save the Children International
Dau Nyok, representative of the Children’s Parents Organization, says that the support is to help people with special needs who were displaced due to fighting in Agok.
Dau described the conditions of the displaced persons as “very bad” especially lack of mosquito nets.
The Secretary-General of Union of People with Disabilities Needs, Abraham Arop says they have registered 250 people with special needs and that only fifty people received assistance.
He added that some people in the villages need urgent assistance, especially food.
Agoth Lual, one of people with disabilities said that now he can sleep in his mosquito net since he was displaced from Agok.
Agoth is appealing to organizations to provide aid, and that they need seeds to start farming.
