The Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area, Kuol Deim has rejected a proposal on joint projects benefitting both Ngok Dinka and Misseriya.

The United Nations has proposed projects involving Ngok Dinka and Misseriya.

Hon. Deim says he does not mind Misseriya having a project benefitting them, but it must be implemented outside the borders of Abyei stated in Hague Court of Arbitration.

The chief prefers to have the money returned to donor instead of establishing joint projects for both Ngok Dinka and Misseriya.

Hon. Deim spoke during a meeting with delegation of the United Nations in Abyei Town.

The head of the administration asked the UN delegation to maintain the road linking Abyei and Twic county to facilitate movement and stressed that the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces are working to protect the road.

The UN delegation asked the chief administrator to cooperate so that they can provide humanitarian assistance to the displaced people.
