IOM counts Amiet and Dokura IDPs

International Organization for Migration is counting internally displaced persons from Amiet and Dokura residing in Abyei Town, Abyei administrative area.

The process begins on Thursday this week.

Speaking to Abyei FM on Thursday, the acting director of the relief and rehabilitation commission, Deng Wuor said that IDPs are facing a dire humanitarian situation and that’s why IOM prioritized them with non-food items immediately after the counting finishes.

Last week, IDPs from Amiet and Dokura complained about dire humanitarian situation.

On 13th April, armed men believed to be from the Misseriya tribe of Sudan opened fire on the market killing 27 and wounding more than 20 others.
