The body of a kidnapped boy was found on Monday in Mayen Deng Arol Village in Twic County, Warrap State.

The 16-year-old boy, Deng Kuol Duper, was abducted by a group believed to belong to Twic County youth from a vehicle en route to Abyei from Wau on the road linking Nyin Deng Ayuel and Athony last Friday.

The caretaker commissioner of Alal County, Hon. Akuei Akon Weil, said that these unknown persons kidnapped the boy and called his mother, asking for a ransom of 200,000 South Sudanese Pounds.

He says that despite the family’s commitment to pay the ransom, the kidnappers killed the boy and took away the money.

The government official appeals to the family of the deceased to be patient and allow the law to take its course. Hon. Akuei also appealed to the government authorities in Warrap State and Abyei Administrative Area  to take the necessary measures to control security on Nyin Deng Ayuel road, which links Abyei Area and Twic County.
