The body of former Chief Administrator, General Arop Moyak Monyoch on Monday was laid to rest in Abyei Town, Abyei administrative area. Gen. Monyoch died in Khartoum last week where he was receiving treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and spasticity.
Chief Administrator, Kuol Deim described late Monyoch as a fighter who died for Abyei cause after many services.
South Sudan’s Minister of the interior, General Mahmoud Solomon requested the state to take care of his colleague’s children.
South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir along with army generals and government officials have had their last tribute to late Monyoch at Juba international airport before being flown to his hometown of Abyei.
The burial ceremony was accompanied by the military funeral procession, in the presence of the Minister of Labor and Service James Hoth Mai, Director of Internal Security General Akol Koor, and commanders of the South Sudan Defense Forces.
