The commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei has promised to hold a conference between Ngok Dinka and Misseriya in Entebbe, Uganda.
This came during a meeting between major General Benjamin Olufemi, commander of UN peacekeeping forces in Abyei, and Ngok Dinka chiefs on Sunday in Paramount Chief Bulabek Deng Kuol’s house in Abyei Town.
Chief Deng said the meeting aims to re-engage the chiefs in the peace process.
Mr. Bulabek said the meeting was attended by senior officials of the UN mission and three chiefs, Chief Nyol Paguot, Chief Akanoon Ajuong, Ring Achuil Joc, and others.
According to the UNISFA Facebook page, the commander of the United Nations force appealed to chiefs to contribute to the peace process.
He also promised to organize a meeting to be attended by both Ngok Dinka and Misseriya leaders.
