Delegates from Abyei Administrative Area in Aweil for the signing of cessation hostilities agreement

A delegation from Abyei Administrative Area and investigation committee headed by South Sudan and representatives Vice President for Service Cluster have gone to Aweil in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

The team went there to sign a cessation of hostilities agreement between communities in Twic county of Warrap State and Abyei Administrative Area.

Among those who went to Aweil are Ngok Dinka Chiefs, chief administrator of Abyei Administrative Area, Kuol Deim Kuol, and Rumamer County caretaker Commissioner.

Speaking to Abyei FM on Friday, the Secretary of the Investigation Committee, Dr. Dhieu Mathok who is the Minister of Investment in South Sudan, said that the meeting needs a neutral area to sign the cessation of hostilities, and Aweil is the area.

The Secretary of the committee appealed to the communities to allow the committee to restore peace. He added that the committee will submit its report to the President of South Sudan for consideration. Dr. Dhieu thanked the people of Abyei Administrative Area for their hospitality.
