Fire destroys over 30 shops in Amiet Joint market

 Fire has burnt thirty-two shops and injured one person in Amiet market in Abyei Administrative Area. The fire outbreak occured on Wednesday afternoon.

The Caretaker Commissioner of Ameth-Aguok county, Hon. Nyok Deng Rou says has confirmed to Abyei FM on Thursday. According to Rou, the fire started from “Shisha” selling and smoking place and spread to other shops. He says the owner of the “Shisha” business has been arrested for investigation.

The official says they are assessing to establish the actual damage caused by the fire. He added that one person sustained fire injury while trying to save goods in the shop from fire and that he has been taken to MSF for treatment. The caretaker commissioner advised traders to organize the market to reduce recurring fire outbreak in the market. This is the fourth time for Amiet market to get burnt.
