Four men from Unity State charged with killing of people in Abyei Administrative Area

Security advisor says four suspects who were arrested for killing in Akec-nhial village in Abyei Administrative Area have confessed to committing the crime. Kelek Kon says the four suspects have surrendered to them the guns they used for shooting.

The gunmen are accused of killing three people and injuring one at Akec-nhial bridge on Thursday morning last week. They reportedly opened fire at the people when they were stopped from crossing the bridge with guns. Kon says the four men from Unity State will be arraigned and tried in court soon.

Abyei Administrative Area is a demilitarized zone where only UN peacekeeping soldiers are allowed to carry firearms.
