Civil servants receive 100 percent salaries in Abyei Administrative Area

Government employees are receiving salaries with 100 percent increment in Abyei Administrative Area. The payment started on Monday.

The director general of finance in Abyei Biong Chol says the salaries the workers are receiving December salaries and July and August arrears.

In July South Sudan president Kiir announced the hundred percent salary increment for all civil servants in the country. The salary increment in Abyei Administrative Area is part of this initiative.

The salaries of September, October and November will be cleared in the beginning of next year according to the official.

The Director of Education in Rumamer County, Santino Aleu says the increment will improve the teachers living standard and motivate them.

The head teacher of Majbong primary school Pinydiing Bol is one of those who received doubled salaries. He says the payment of increased salaries will help them buy their needs during Christmas.
