The department of physical infrastructure and public utilities in Abyei Administrative Area has designated a plot of land for the construction of a building for the judiciary in Agok.
The land is identified near the traditional court, and it will be used by the United Nations Development Program to construct judiciary offices.
It was agreed during a meeting between the caretaker head of the department of physical infrastructure and public utilities, Hon. Mayot Kuniet and caretaker Commissioner of Rumamer county, Hon. Chol Pur Chol where the land is on Monday.
Mayot stated that the meeting was held after the United Nations Development Program has promised to build two judicial houses in Abyei.
“The engineers came to Agok this morning to determine the site, because UNDP has promised to build judiciary in Abyei town and Agok here. And after the engineer have completed their work, we will give the documents to the organization for the start of the work,” Mayot stated.
The official assured that the organization is ready to begin work once it is shown the land and issued documents by the government.
On his part, the caretaker Commissioner of Rumamer county, Hon. Chol Pur Chol said the piece of land given belongs the government.
