
Students in Abyei Administrative Area have got good results in South Sudan Certificate of Education Examination for 2020 despite Covid-19 pandemic.
The department of education, information, culture, youth and sports in Abyei Administrative Area announced the results on Monday.
The candidates who sat for the national examinations were 196 but only 23 failed the tests. The percentage is 88.3, the best ever results of the national examinations. The 2019 result was 53.6 percent.
In the school ranking, Abyei Day Academic leads with 100 percent, followed by Comboni secondary with 97.4 percent. Abyei Complex secondary school took the third position with 93.5 percent. Agok secondary is the least performing school with 77.6 percent.
The best student is Simon Arop Gach Dau from Comboni secondary. He scored 85.3 percent.
Awut Minyang Manyiet Matiok from Abyei Complex obtained 85 percent placing her in the second position. She is the only female candidate who emerged among the ten best students.
Among the best performing states, Abyei Administrative Area has been placed in the tenth position with performance of 72.9 percent.
