The administration of Agok hospital in Abyei Administrative Area has begun destroying expired drugs and laboratory reagents over the weekend. The expired drugs are about 250 kilograms.

The caretaker head of health in the area, Dr. Ayom Korchiek Ayom said the drugs are being burnt in a pit in Agok hospital. He advised public not to panic, saying some of the drugs can produce explosive sounds.

On Sunday night last week sounds of burning expulsion were heard sparking fears among residents. The drugs to be disposed of include anti-malaria and antibiotics.
