Abyei chief administrator pledges to rehabilitate SPLM building

The chief administrator of Abyei Administrative Area has promised to rebuild the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, SPLM house in Nyinkuac neighbourhood in Abyei Town. The facility will be named after the late prominent politician, Mr. Edward Lino Wuor who died in 2020.

Hon. Deim said this during the swearing in ceremony of SPLM Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs, Mr. Deng Kiir Mater and SPLM assistant secretary for Culture, Information, and Communications, Ms. Nyankor Maluil Alor in Abyei Town last Saturday.

Mater said the chief administrator has sent engineers to the site and has promised to work with the party to ensure the construction of the house is completed. He added that the chief administrator supported the renovation of SPLM office in Abyei-Jongyom residential area.

The SPLM house was destroyed during clashes with Sudan army forces in Abyei in 2008.
