The vaccination campaign against the coronavirus has stopped in Abyei Administrative Area. Director of the Expanded Program on Immunization in Abyei Area Yusuf Lal Ayom said the vaccination has stopped because the vaccine doses have been used.

The health official says the vaccination will resume once more supply of the vaccine arrives in the area.

Last week, the area got more than ninety vials of AstraZeneca vaccine from South Sudan health ministry.

The doses are part of the more than 59,000 doses of AstraZeneca to South Sudan from the COVAX facility.

Yak Monychok, a clinical officer at JuolJok Primary health center said 60 vials are expected to arrive in the area on Thursday.
