Local youths recovered eight cattle from suspected Misseriya armed robbers in Abyei Administrative Area over the weekend. The livestock were raided from traders on the way to Amiet market in Ameth-Aguok county.
Caretaker commissioner of the county, Nyok Deng Rou told Abyei FM on Monday. According to Rou, the return of the cattle is an assurance of adequate security provided by the youths in his county.
The official advised traders to use the main road which is frequently patrolled by UN peacekeeping forces to reduce the risk of robbery. Rou added that the area has witnessed relative calm.
