Ruweng chief administrator forms government without other parties

The Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area, Hon. Peter Daau Chopkuer has appointed his executives. In a decree issued on Tuesday, Hon. Chopkuer appointed his deputy, heads of departments, county commissioners, advisors, directors and mayor of Parieng municipality and their deputies.

The deputy chief administrator is Mr. Michael Jou Manyiel and Mangar Long is the new mayor of Pariang municipality.

The Area’s Director of Communications and Public Relations, Mr. Miakol Makuac, said the chief administrator appointed 8 commissioners, 2 advisors, 5 ministers and Parieng municipality mayor.

“The government of Ruweng Administrative Area was announced yesterday. Those who have been appointed based on their qualification in this government will help Ruweng administration greatly especially on education and health as well as in other things for instance development. The appointed officials in the first place are professionals,” Makuac said.

Makuac says the executives will take oath of office in Parieng on Friday this week. Out of more than 20 appointees only three are women.

According to Makuac, all those appointed are members or supporters of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).

“Ruweng government has no other political parties. Those who have been appointed are all from Sudan People’s Liberation Movement,” he said.
