A medical worker has been arrested after a patient he treated died in Mayom county in Unity State. The unnamed medic works for a private clinic in the county.
County police commissioner says they detained the man after a patient died in his hands. According to police, the 39-year-old soldier died after he was injected with benzathine penicillin. Police Commissioner, Joseph Dhal stated that the 35-year-old man will be arraigned in court.
“My advice to South Sudan community, Unity State or Mayom in particular, if a person fall sick, he or she should see experienced doctor who is known. Second to it, hospital is an important place, a person who works in the hospital should see what happen to the person,” he said.
The police officer urged victim’s family to be patient and allow the law to take its course.
