Abyei Administrative Area and Unity State have agreed to recover and control livestock theft in the areas. This came in a meeting held Bentiu Unity State last week.

Last week, a delegation led by Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area, Hon. Kuol Deim Kuol visited Unity State.

The Acting Head of Finance and Economic Planning in Abyei, Mr. Malony Tong, said the visit was to discuss border issues including movement of citizens, as well as possibility of establishing a fuel station in Abyei.

“We came to discuss our problems. The visit has three important things; first we came to participate in the reopening of oil station, this is first thing. Secondly, we discussed the security issues. Thirdly we will meet with the leaders and the ministry of oil (petroleum) and NilePet because here in unity state there is an oil refinery,” Tong said.

The delegation is expected to return to Abyei on Tuesday.
