Some health facilities in Twic County, Warrap State are facing shortage of essential drugs. Paracetamol, Amoxicillin, and anti -malarial drugs are said to be scarce in these facilities.
County health officials says malaria cases are very high due to flooding but there are a few medicines. Dr. Barac Achuil Rual says the department has resorted to drugs rotation in the facilities.
“When there is a facility, we find having shortage of drugs we can take some from the hospital that is having little to the other. This is what we do now to respond to the situation until the supply reach us here,” Dr. Achuil explains.
Achuil said they have reported the drug shortage to South Sudan’s health ministry and its partners. He said the supply is expected to arrive at the end of this month in the state.
