Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation is closing its project after the distribution of the last food assistance on Monday next week. The projects manager of the organization, Kuol Deng Biong told Abyei FM on Tuesday. He says they have written a proposal for the similar project that is expected to begin next year.
The Catholic Church-based organization is giving food to vulnerable families in Abyei Administrative Area. Last month it started distribution of food commodities to 200 families in Agok and 150 others in Abyei town.
Each household receives cereals, pulses, cooking oil and salt. Families of workers for Comboni schools equally benefited from the project.
The organization has been providing food aid to the poor in the area since 2018.
